Summary:A control system (200) for a garden area (100) includes one or more fluid outlets (104,106,108) and an irrigation device (116) adapted to be removably engaged with the one or more fluid outlets (104,106,108). A robotic vehicle (118) facilitates removable engagement of the irrigation device (116) with the one or more fluid outlets (104,106,108) over the garden area (100). The control system (200) is characterized in that each of the irrigation device (116) and the robotic vehicle (118) is configured as an independent movable unit. Further, the robotic vehicle (118) includes a manipulator (120) which mechanically facilitates removable engagement of the irrigation device (116) with the one or more fluid outlets (104,106,108) over the garden area (100). A central controller (202) is configured to command the robotic vehicle (118) to facilitate removable engagement of the irrigation device (116) with the one or more fluid outlets (104,106,108) to irrigate the one or more portions of the garden area (100).
