The memory may store instructions that cause the processor to identify a rear surface positioned above a front surface, to provide a notification through a display area positioned on the rear surface while the rear surface is positioned above the front surface, to identify the front surface positioned above the rear surface, to provide the notification through a display area positioned on the front surface in response to a transition from the state in which the rear surface is positioned above the front surface to the state in which the front surface is positioned above the rear surface, to expand the front-surface display area according to selection information regarding the notification in the state in which the front surface is positioned above the rear surface, and to provide a user interface (UI) element related to the notification according to the selection information through the expanded display area.
