Described is a group of several hand-towel dispensers (1), each of the several hand-towel dispensers (I) comprising: a receiving unit (2) for fresh towel (3); a dirty towel roller (4); a drive device (5) and an electronic module (7) having a microcontroller (11), each electronic module (7) of the several hand-towel dispensers (1) comprising a radio receiver (13) which is electronically connected to the microcontroller (11) and each microcontroller (11) of the several hand-towel dispensers (1) being suitably programmed to switch the associated hand-towel dispenser (1) from a deactivated to an activated operating state. Also described is a method for operating a group of several hand-towel dispensers (1) having the following steps: A) checking whether the criterion or criteria for switching at least one other of the several hand-towel dispensers (1) are met by means of a microcontroller (11) programmed as a primary controller or by means of an external computer (9); B) issuing an activation radio signal via a transmitter to one or several of the deactivated hand-towel dispensers (1) if the criterion or criteria for switching on at least one other of the several hand-towel dispensers (1) are met; and C) activating at least one other of the several hand-towel dispensers (1).
