Methods and systems for presenting raw image data with a composite image are provided. For example, a method (500, 600, 700) comprises displaying (502, 602, 702) a composite image (20) on a user interface (12); identifying (504, 604, 706) an area of interest (24) on the composite image (20); and displaying (508, 608, 612, 710, 714) on the user interface (12) a plurality of source images (22) with the composite image (20), each source image (22) of the plurality of source images (22) containing at least one pixel in the area of interest (24). As another example, a method (700) comprises projecting (702) a composite image (20) onto a representation of a three-dimensional (3D) surface (26) displayed on a user interface (12) to produce a 3D composite image (20) and changing (704) an orientation of the 3D composite image (20) in response to a user input prior to identifying (504, 604, 706) an area of interest (24) on the composite image (20). An image display system (10) comprising a user interface (12) is configured to simultaneously display the composite image (20) and the plurality of source images (22).
