Summary:The invention relates to a gear motor having a transmission, an electric motor, and an adapter flange, in particular an adapter flange arranged between the transmission and the electric motor, wherein the adapter flange has an annular main part which is shaped so as to be rotationally symmetrical with respect to the rotational axis of an input shaft of the transmission and on which an axial protrusion is molded, said axial protrusion being arranged on the adapter flange face facing away from the electric motor. The axial protrusion is designed to be interrupted in the circumferential direction, and the housing part protrudes into the interrupted region.
