Summary:A cable reel system (2) for a multifunctional microgravity exercise apparatus, the cable reel system (2) being configured to allow a plurality of resistive exercises, the cable reel system (2) comprising two cable reels (36, 37) rotatably journaled on a shaft (42), two ring gears (40, 41) and at least two pinion gears (44). Each ring gear (40) is connected to one reel (36, 37). The two ring gears (40, 41) face one another with the at least two pinion gears (44) arranged between the two ring gears (40, 41) with the at least two pinion gears (44) each meshing with both of the two ring gears (40, 41). The shaft (42) is provided with a pinion gear carrier (43) for each of the at least two pinion gears (44). The cable reel system (2) facilitates a multifunctional exercise apparatus with further possibilities for training body joints and muscle groups.
