An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device according to an embodiment includes a communication circuit including at least one antenna, a memory, and a processor operatively connected with the communication circuit and the memory. The memory includes instructions, when executed, causing the processor to identify a communication state of the communication circuit, adjust a characteristic of the antenna to a wideband characteristic including a first wireless-fidelity (Wi-Fi) band and a second Wi-Fi band by means of the communication circuit to scan a Wi-Fi communication channel, when the identified communication state is a state where the Wi-Fi communication channel is scanned, and adjust the characteristic of the antenna to a narrowband characteristic corresponding to a determined communication channel to perform Wi-Fi communication, when the identified communication state is a state where the Wi-Fi communication channel to communicate is determined.
