Summary:The invention relates to a device (100) for producing white top kraftliner (102), comprising a wire section (104), a press section (106), and a dryer section (108). According to the invention, the forming units (120, 130) of the wire section (104) are arranged such that the lighter top ply (112) of the white top kraftliner (102) points downwards upon leaving the wire section (104). Additionally, the press section (106) comprises at least three press nips (164, 172, 176), wherein a first press nip (164) is made of a shoe press roll (166) and a mating suction roll (168), a second press nip (172) is made of the mating suction roll (168) and a smooth central roll (174), and a third press nip (176) is made of the smooth central roll (174) and another shoe press roll (176), and the lighter top ply (112) of the white top kraftliner (102) comes into contact with the smooth surface of the smooth central roll (174) in the second press nip (172) as well as in the third press nip (176).
