Summary:The present invention relates to the technical field of vehicles, and provides an engine control method and device for a hybrid vehicle. The method comprises performing driving starting control on an engine, comprising: controlling an odd-gear clutch or an even-gear clutch of a dual-clutch automatic transmission to be converted into a sliding friction state from a closed state at a first start moment when an HCU activates a first starting instruction for the engine, and in the process from the first start moment to a second start moment for activating a second starting instruction of the engine, controlling the motor torque to be increased so that the total torque can be kept unchanged; maintaining the motor torque at the second start moment to be unchanged from the second start moment to a third start moment when an oil pump of the engine starts to work; and starting from the third start moment, and controlling the change of the motor torque, so that a rotating speed of the engine and a rotating speed of the motor synchronously change, and the total torque is kept unchanged till engine driving starting is completed. The present invention ensures the smoothness and the dynamic property of the vehicle in the driving process of the engine.
