An apparatus distributes a plurality of subcarriers of a resource unit, RU, to generate a dRU or a distributed-tone multi-RU, dMRU, on an 80MHz frequency segment or subblock (3510). The apparatus then communicates with a communication entity using the dRU or the dMRU (3520).
