Summary: | The present disclosure provides for a chemosensor for lead ion detection in water comprising a sensor layer placed in an optoelectrical transducer, the sensor layer comprising at least one compound having at least one sulphur-containing ionophore moiety and a fluorophore moiety. It also provides for a method (100) of detecting lead ions in a water sample, the method comprising i) providing a chemosensor for lead ion detection in water comprising a sensor layer placed in an optoelectrical transducer, the sensor layer comprising a compound having at least one sulphur-containing ionophore moiety and a fluorophore moiety (105); ii) measuring the fluorescence signal emitted from the sensor layer (115); and III) attributing the fluorescence signal to a lead ion concentration in the water (120). It also provides for use of a chemosensor as defined above for lead ion detection in water. |
