PEPTIDE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING TAUOPATHIES

The invention concerns treating Tauopathies such as Alzheimer's disease with a SCO- Spondin derived peptide administered through a systemic route to the patient. Said peptide has amino acid sequence X1-W-S-A1-W-S-A2-C-S-A3-A4-C-G-X2, in which A1, A2, A3 and A4 consists of amino acid sequences c...

Summary:The invention concerns treating Tauopathies such as Alzheimer's disease with a SCO- Spondin derived peptide administered through a systemic route to the patient. Said peptide has amino acid sequence X1-W-S-A1-W-S-A2-C-S-A3-A4-C-G-X2, in which A1, A2, A3 and A4 consists of amino acid sequences consisting of 1 to 5 amino acids, X1 and X2 consists of amino acid sequences consisting of 1 to 6 amino acids, or X1 and X2 are absent; it being possible for the N-terminal amino acid to be acetylated, for the C-terminal amino acid to be amidated, or the N-terminal amino acid to be acetylated and the C-terminal amino acid to be amidated.
