Summary:Disclosed is a combination of encapsulated, in particular micro-encapsulated phenothrin and emulsified prallethrin in water, preferably in a ratio of 10:1. This combination has excellent suitability for use as an insecticide. The suitable concentration is about 0.1% by mass of phenothrin and 0.01% by mass of prallethrin. The insecticide is used at a concentration of 20 ml/m2 to 60 ml/m2 on non-porous surfaces or in a concentration of 40 ml/m2 to 120 ml/m2 on porous surfaces. Despite the low amounts of active ingredients, the insecticide shows a rapid knockdown effect and a prolonged depot effect.
