Summary:A confocal OCT imaging system (10) for imaging a region (20) of a subject's eye (30), comprising: a light source (40); an illumination module (50) comprising a mask (310) having transmissive portions (315) through which light from the light source propagates to form respective non-overlapping light beams (90), the illumination module scanning the non-overlapping beams across the region such that each point in the region is illuminated by a respective one of the non-overlapping beams during the scan; an interferometer (60) which generates reference light based on the light from the light source, and generate interference light by combining, for each beam, light from the beam which has been reflected from the region with the reference light; a photodetector element array (70) which detect the interference light; and a tomographic image data generating module (80) which generates a tomographic image of the region based on the detected interference light.
