Summary:Systems, methods, and software are disclosed herein for enhancing the awareness of the activity of others in a collaboration group. In an implementation, a contact that identifies a person is displayed in a user interface to an application. A determination is made whether the person is in a collaboration group with a user of the application. If so, a further determination is made whether that person is presently active in a content item in a context other than the present context of the user. When such conditions are satisfied, an indication is surfaced in the user interface that the person is active in the content item.
