Summary:A portable communications device (300,400) and method for displaying a graphical output on a communications device is described. The device comprises a housing (302,402,702,800); a graphics processor (820); and a display apparatus (822), which comprises a first screen portion (304,404), a second screen portion (306,406) and a third screen portion (307,407). The second screen (306,406) portion and third screen portion (307,407) are inactive and housed inside the housing in respective first positions when the portable communications device is in the first, portable display configuration, and are extendable from the housing in opposite directions to each other to bring the display apparatus into the second, expanded display configuration in which the second screen portion (306,406) and third screen portion (307,407) are disposed in respective second positions that are coplanar with the first screen portion.
