Summary: | A blood loop system for controlling blood oxygen saturation includes a conduit loop (204), a pump (202), a flow cell (206, 208), a matter source (212), an aeration chamber (210), a collection chamber (216) and an oxygen probe (218). The pump (202) is coupled to the conduit loop and positioned to circulate blood through the conduit loop. The flow cell (206, 208) is positioned to measure a characteristic of the blood circulated through the conduit loop. The matter source (212) includes a gas. The aeration chamber (210) is coupled to the conduit loop and is in fluid communication with the matter source (212) to enable the gas to combine with the blood. The collection chamber (216) is in fluid communication with the aeration chamber (210) and is positioned to receive the blood. The oxygen probe (218) is positioned to measure an amount of oxygen in the blood. |
