Summary:The invention relates to a filter apparatus having a filter housing (1) having a fluid inlet (11) for unfiltered fluid and having a fluid outlet (19) for filtrate and having at least one one-piece or multi-piece filter insert (7, 9) which is received in the filter housing (1) and can be cleaned using at least one back-flushing member (10) in counter-current to the filtration direction, which member can, by means of a fluid-conducting driveshaft (20) of a rotary drive, be moved along the inner face (17) of the respective filter insert (7, 9) and has, at the end of the back-flushing member adjacent to said inner face (17), a gap-shaped through-opening (22) of predetermined gap with that runs parallel to the axis of rotation of the driveshaft (20) and leads into a flow space (14) that is fluidically connected to the driveshaft (20). Said filter apparatus is characterized in that there is a predefinable distance between the respective back-flushing member (10) and the adjacent associated filter insert (7, 9), said distance being an eighth to half the gap width of the through-opening (22) of the back-flushing member (10).
