Summary:The invention relates to a fitting sleeve (10) for receiving an airbag (11) for a vehicle occupant restraining system, said airbag being convertible from a rest state into an inflated state and forming an impact surface for a vehicle occupant in the inflated state. The mounting sleeve (10) has a seam (12) which is at least partly arranged at a distance from a first pre-cut (13), which preferably has a perforation, in order to open the mounting sleeve (10) when the airbag (11) is inflated. The mounting sleeve (10) is characterized by having at least one second pre-cut (15) which is arranged at least partly between the seam (12) and the first pre-cut (13).
