Summary:A steerable catheter device (100), comprising:a shaft (102) having a proximal portion and a distal portion (116); andfirst and second pull wires (104, 106) having respective proximal and distal portions, the proximal portions extending through the proximal portion of the shaft (102) in close proximity to each other, and the distal end portions extending through the distal portion (116) of the shaft (102) in close proximity to each other over a first distance defining a primary flexing section (118), diverging away from each other over a second distance, and then extending parallel to each other at angularly spaced locations over a third distance defining a secondary flexing section (120);wherein tension applied to the pull wire/s (104,106) is effective to flex the distal portion (116) away from a central shat axis (X).
