PARTICLE SENSOR FOR THE DETECTION OF PARTICLES OR AEROSOLS IN A STREAMING FLUID USING LASER INDUCED INCANDECENCE

The invention relates to a particle sensor (16) for detecting particles (12) or aerosol in a flowing fluid using the principle of laser-induced incandescence, comprising a laser (18) and a first detector (26) designed to detect thermal radiation (14). The particle sensor (16) has at least one optica...

Summary:The invention relates to a particle sensor (16) for detecting particles (12) or aerosol in a flowing fluid using the principle of laser-induced incandescence, comprising a laser (18) and a first detector (26) designed to detect thermal radiation (14). The particle sensor (16) has at least one optical element (20) which is arranged in the beam path of the laser (18) and which is arranged and designed such that laser light (10) emanating from the laser (18) is bundled in order to form a spot (22), and the first detector (26) is designed and arranged such that the detector detects thermal radiation (14) emanating from the spot (22). The particle sensor (16) has a second detector (28) which is designed and arranged such that the second detector detects backscattered laser light (34).
