Summary:An expansion joint includes a foam strip having first and second lateral side surfaces extending axially outward to an outer edge surface, and an elongated gasket having a laterally expandable portion adhered to the outer edge surface of the foam strip, with the laterally expandable portion extending between first and second lateral end portions. The first and second lateral end portions each define at least one of a laterally outward facing bonding surface and an axially inward facing bonding surface, with the at least one bonding surface being spaced apart axially outward from the corresponding one of the first and second lateral side surfaces of the foam strip.
