The object of the application is a segment conveyor (7) adapted to convey groups (G) of rod-like articles (3) while maintaining mutual orientation in the group (G), comprising: transport segments (30, 30') containing a transport pocket (32, 32') for receiving the groups (G) of rod-like articles (3) and determining the mutual orientation of the rod-like articles (3). The transport segments (30, 30') are connected with one another by pivotal joints to form a chain so that an axis (Z) of the transport pocket (32, 32') of the transport segment (30, 30') is situated substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (U) of the transport segment (30, 30') connecting the joints (31) of the transport segment (30, 30'). The conveyor according to the invention is characterised in that the transport segment (30, 30') is rotatably mounted, whereas the transport segment (30, 30') is adapted to rotate about a longitudinal axis (U) of the transport segment (30, 30') connecting the joints (31) of the transport segment (30, 30').
