Summary:An object is to provide a base paper for paper tube that has lower environmental impact and is used for manufacturing of paper tubes offering excellent water resistance. As a solution, a base paper for paper tube is provided, characterized in that: it has three or more but no more than five paper layers; its overall basis weight is 250 g/m2 or more; and among the paper layers, the innermost layer and outermost layer have a basis weight of 25 g/m2 or more but no more than 75 g/m2.
