Summary: | Disclosed are a low Cr ferritic stainless steel having excellent damping capacity to absorb external vibrational energy through precipitate control and a method for manufacturing same. A low Cr ferritic stainless steel having excellent damping capacity according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises, by weight percent: C: 0.005 to 0.01%; N: 0.005 to 0.01%; Si: 0.1 to 0.9%; Mn: 0.1 to 0.9%; Cr: 9 to 14%; Ni: 0.3% or less; P: 0.04% or less; S: 0.002% or less; Ti: 0.15 to 0.3%; Nb: 0.15 to 0.3%; Cu: 0.15 to 0.3%; Al: 0.01 to 0.05%; and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, wherein the low Cr ferritic stainless steel having excellent damping capacity includes 5×102/㎟ or greater of Nb-Laves phase precipitates and Cu precipitates. |
