Summary:The invention relates to a plant cultivation system (10) having at least one irrigation container (14) into which at least one pot (20) can be inserted. A capsule holder (28) is receivable in a pot (20) and has a plurality of recesses (30, 32, 34, 36). Each capsule (180, 182, 184) with a plant cultivation substrate (192) can be inserted into the recess and water (170) can automatically flow back into the irrigation container (14) from the pot (20) due to gravity from the at least one bottom opening (42). According to the invention, water (170) can be fed from the irrigation container (14) intothe pot (20) by means of an electric pump unit (50) associated with the irrigation container (14) for irrigating the capsule inserted in the recess (30, 32, 34), and the irrigation container (14) canbe placed on a contactless docking station (60) for supplying the electric pump unit (50) with electricity, and the docking station (60) can be connected to the power grid (122) via a connection cable (120). Thus, the plant cultivation system (10) can be cleaned without problems such as in a dishwasher.
