Summary:A method for controlling an inkjet printer is provided. The printer comprises a reciprocating print head that applies a curable ink on a substrate in an at least two-pass print process. A print mask is applied to determine which dot positions are addressed in a pass of the print head. The ink is positionally fixed in a fixing step directly after application and cured in a curing step on a part of the substrate where the application of ink is completed. The level of fixing is adjustable and an amount of clustering of pixels in the print mask related to a print mode, associated with the level of fixing, is varied in dependence on the level of fixing.
