PLASTIC FILM LAMINATE COMPRISING MEDIUM DENSITY FOAM
The invention relates to a plastic film laminate, comprising a single or multiple-layer top film and a foam layer made of a cross-linked and foamed plastic material, wherein the foam layer has a density of 250 to less than 600 kg/m3 and the plastic material for the foam layer comprises linear polyet...

Summary: | The invention relates to a plastic film laminate, comprising a single or multiple-layer top film and a foam layer made of a cross-linked and foamed plastic material, wherein the foam layer has a density of 250 to less than 600 kg/m3 and the plastic material for the foam layer comprises linear polyethylene of low density (LLDPE) having a melt flow index MFI of less than 2 g/10 min according to ISO 1133 (190 °C, 2, 16 kg) and polypropylene random copolymer (PP-R) having a melting point of no more than 150 °C and a melt flow index MFI of 0.2 to 12 g/10 min according to ISO 1133 (230 °C, 2, 16 kg). By means of the plastic film laminates, deep-drawn components or components produced by other conventional methods such as press laminating which go beyond a critical extension of 200% can be produced. The film construction is approximately 40% lighter than a standard compact film and approximately 20% heavier than normal foam film laminates. |
