In the memory (22) of the hearing device (12) a first set (62) of program code modules (56) and in the memory (22) of the connected device (14) a second set (64) of program code modules (56) different from the first set (62) is stored. A program code module (56) of the second set of program code modules (64) is transferred from the connected device (14) to the hearing device (12) upon request from the hearing device (12) or the connected device (14).
