The invention relates to a transmission system and to an extruder machine having a transmission system, having a first and a second transmission, wherein the first transmission has at least one transmission stage, the output shaft of which functions as an input shaft of a second transmission stage of the first transmission and is thus an intermediate shaft, wherein the second transmission has at least one transmission stage, the output shaft of which functions as an input shaft of a second transmission stage of the second transmission and is thus a second intermediate shaft, wherein the first intermediate shaft leads out of the housing of the first transmission, wherein the second intermediate shaft leads out of the housing of the second transmission, wherein the first and second intermediate shafts are coupled to each other for conjoint rotation.
