Summary:The invention relates to a table base (4) comprising a table leg (2) and arms (5) on the table leg (2), the arms (5) being pivotably articulated on a fixed part (8) of the table leg (2) by means of an axis of rotation (y) and being operatively connected to one another in such a way that pivoting of an arm (5) results in pivoting of one or more further, operatively connected arms (5), the operative connection being achieved by a transmission of force by means of a gear formation (G) between the arms (5). The aim of the invention is to further improve a table base of the type in question. This aim is achieved in that the gear formation (G) has a transfer section (18) which is movable relative to both arms (5).
