The invention relates to a chassis (1) for a road vehicle with an electrical energy store (50). In order, in the case of a road vehicle with an electrical energy store, to realize optimized protection of the energy store, it is provided according to the invention that the chassis (1) has - two longitudinal members (2) which extend in the longitudinal direction, are arranged at a distance from each other over their entire length and, in a centre portion (1.2) of the chassis (1), are pre-curved outwards in the transverse direction in relation to a front portion (1.1) and a rear portion (1.3), and - a plurality of crossmembers (3 - 8) which extend in the transverse direction and connect the longitudinal members (2), wherein, in the centre portion (1.2), the chassis (1) has a mounting space (40) between the longitudinal members (2) for the energy store (50), in which the energy store (50) is arranged in the assembled state, wherein a buffer region (15) is formed in the transverse direction between the mounting space (40) and the respective longitudinal member (2).
