Summary:In this friction pad assembly (1) for a disk brake, a lining assembly (13) is swingably supported by a guide plate (11) that receives braking torque so that the lining assembly (13) is pressed against a disk rotor. The guide plate (11) and a torque-receiving plate (3), a peripheral wall (33) of which is anchored to a peripheral edge section of the guide plate (11), constitute a housing for forming, on the back-surface side of the lining assembly (13), an interior space (40) that allows the lining assembly (13) to swing. In the torque receiving plate (3), a hole (51) that communicates between the exterior of the housing and the interior space (40) is formed at a position which will be downward in the vertical direction when the torque receiving plate is mounted on a caliper brake mounting section.
