A hand-held dispenser (10) to dispense fluid includes a casing (12) to fit into a hand of a user, a nozzle (14) in the casing to dispense a mist, a fluid reservoir (16) contained in the casing (12) to hold a fluid to be turned into the mist, a filament extension atomizer (18) contained in the casing (12) to generate the mist, an air source (20) contained in the casing (12) to provide air flow to direct the mist to the nozzle (14), a motor (22) contained in the casing (12) to operate the filament extension atomizer (18), an actuator (24) positioned on the casing (12) to activate the dispenser (10), a control circuit (26) contained in the casing (12) to receive a signal from the actuator (24) and to send a signal to the motor (22) to cause the motor (22) to actuate, and a power source (28) contained in the casing (12) to provide power to the motor (22) upon receive a signal from the control circuit.
