The invention relates to a window-sill mounting trowel for the installation of window sills (15) under a window frame (11), comprising a spacer element (1), wherein the spacer element (1) has an upper side suitable for contact with an underside of the window frame (11), a handle element (2) and a clamping element (4), wherein the clamping element (4) is connected to the handle element (2), and wherein the spacer element (1) has a cut-out, by which means the spacer element has lateral sides of different heights for the mounting of window sills (15) of different thicknesses, and is attached to the clamping element, and wherein the clamping element (4) is arranged to project slightly in relation to the spacer element (1). The window-sill mounting trowel according to the invention makes it possible, in conjunction with a mounting angle bracket (6) which can be plugged in between clamping element (4) and spacer element (1), to mount a window sill (15) without supporting blocks and with an enormous saving of time. The invention further relates to the method corresponding hereto.
