Summary:The invention relates to a method of storing and transporting cores (8) on a textile machine (1), which is provided with a plurality of stations (4). The stations (4) are parallelly arranged along a mechanical longitudinal axis (M) on the opposite sides of a machine (1). Each station is provided with a reeling device. Yarns are wound around the cores. By a transportation device (6), the cores (8)are delivered to the stations (4) from a plurality of core chambers (7.1, 7.2,7.3,7.4), and core chambers are arranged on two sides of the machine (1). Cores (8) are stored in the core chambers (7.1,7.2,7.3,7.4). The longitudinal axes (H) of the cores are basically horizontal and horizontally positioned relative to the mechanical longitudinal axis (M). In a corresponding textile machine (1), corestoring parts are arranged in the core chambers (7.1, 7.2,7.3,7.4) and are used to store the cores (8); the longitudinal axes (H) of the cores are basically horizontal and horizontally positioned relative to the mechanical longitudinal axis (M). All cores (8) are taken out from the core chambers (7.1, 7.2,7.3,7.4) along the longitudinal axes (H) and move between the core chambers (7.1, 7.2,7.3,7.4) arranged on two sides of the machine (1) towards the mechanical longitudinal axis (M).
