Summary:The invention relates to a subscriber station (10) for a bus system (1; 2) and to a method for data transmission in a bus system (1; 2). The subscriber station (10) comprises a transmit/receive device (12) for transmitting a message (45; 46; 47) to and/or receiving a message (45; 46; 47) from a further subscriber station (20; 30) on the bus system (1; 2) by means of a bus (40), wherein the transmit/receive device (12) is designed to reduce a differential voltage from a first predetermined voltage level for a data transmission in a first time segment to a second predetermined voltage level for a data transmission in a second time segment or to raise same again from the second predetermined voltage level to the first predetermined voltage level and to reduce the decision threshold (125, 126) for the reception of bits of the message (45; 46; 47) in the second time segment from a first predetermined threshold value for a data transmission in the first time segment to a second predetermined threshold value for a data transmission in the second time segment or to raise same again from the second predetermined threshold value to the first predetermined threshold value, and wherein the subscriber station (10) is designed to send or to receive the messages (45; 47) in the second time segment with a higher data transmission rate than in the first time segment.
