Summary:The present invention relates to a method for forming a three-dimensional (3D) object layer by layer by selectively dispensing construction material onto a construction platform (24) from a plurality of printing heads (52) each having a surface formed with an array of output orifices (58), the method comprising: dispensing a first set of droplets of construction material (Dr1) along a first set of deposition lines with an array of output orifices (58); dispensing a second set of droplets of construction material (Dr2) along a second set of deposition lines with an array of output orifices (58); dispensing a third set of droplets of construction material (Dr3) along a third set of deposition lines with an array of output orifices (58); dispensing a fourth set of droplets of construction material (Dr4) along a fourth set of deposition lines with an array of output orifices (58); wherein the plurality of printing heads (52) move simultaneously over the construction platform (24) as they selectively dispense droplets of the construction material responsive to data defining the object, to form a layer (34) of the object; characterized in that droplets along the second set of deposition lines are dispensed equidistantly from droplets along the first set of deposition lines and droplets along each of the third and fourth set of deposition lines are dispensed equidistantly between droplets of the first and the second set of deposition lines.
