Summary:The invention relates to milling bodies having a prosthesis base blank (1) for producing a prosthesis base for a dental prosthesis in a subtractive CAM method, wherein the prosthesis base blank (1) is pre-formed and is made of a plastic, wherein the prosthesis base blank (1) is embedded in a wax bed (12) such that the wax bed (12) holds the prosthesis base blank (1) mechanically. The invention also relates to a method for producing a prosthesis base for producing a total dental prosthesis or at least a partial dental prosthesis with such a milling body, said method having the following method steps: 1) fastening the milling body in a CAM device for removing material of the prosthesis base blank (1) by a CAM method, and 2) removing material of the prosthesis base blank (1) and wax of the wax bed (12) by means of the CAM device on the basis of a computed CAD model. Set having at least one such milling body and data on the outer shape of the at least one prosthesis base blank (1).
