A molded pulp container (10) is provided by a simple and easy method, the molded pulp container (10) including a synthetic resin layer (12) on both of its inner and outer surfaces, and being configured such that the formation of blisters is reduced after the container is heated in a microwave oven, thereby keeping the outer appearance of the molded pulp container (10) beautiful. The molded pulp container (10) further includes a container body (11), and a synthetic resin layer-free area (13a) on a partial area of the container body (11). Since, when the container is heated, e.g., in a microwave oven, the moisture contained in the container body (11) evaporates through the synthetic resin layer-free area (13a), it is possible to easily reduce the formation of blisters on the portion of the molded pulp container (10) on which the synthetic resin layer (12) has been formed, thereby preventing the deterioration of the outer appearance of the molded pulp container (10).
