Summary:The present invention relates to a respiratory apparatus comprising: a blower (4142) driven by a motor (4144) to generate a flow of breathable gas; at least one sensor (4272, 4274, 4278) configured to provide at least one input signal indicative of at least one of a physical and system parameter; a microprocessor (4230, 4240) configured to provide executable instructions to control the motor; and a fault mitigation integrated circuit (4500) in communication with the motor and the microprocessor, the fault mitigation integrated circuit configured to: receive the at least one input signal from the at least one sensor; detect a fault based on the received at least one input signal; and generate an output signal to stop the motor based on the detected fault.
