Summary: | The present invention relates to materials comprising a combination of calcium phosphates and silicon compounds without calcium, and which show unexpected efficiency in tooth re-mineralisation and occlusion of exposed dentinal tubules when used as a single component or in dental products for oral hygiene and treatment. The preferred calcium phosphates include anhydrous dicalcium phosphate, dihydrate dicalcium phosphate, hydroxylapatite and amorphous calcium phosphate, these phosphates being able to incorporate partial substitutions of calcium by divalent metallic ions such as Mg++, Zn++, Ba++, Fe++, Sn++ o Sr++. The preferred silicon compounds include silicon dioxide, silica gel, metasilicic acid, orthosilicic acid, silicic acid and combinations thereof.. |
