Summary: | The application to a protein, which has been termed HadD by the inventors. HadD is an enzyme, which is involved in the biosynthesis of the mycobacterial envelope. A hadD orthologue is present in Non-Tuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM), as well as in tuberculous mycobacteria of the M. tuberculosis complex and in M. leprae. The application also relates to products and means, which involve or derive from the HadD protein, such as ligands. The application also relates to applications of said HadD protein, or of said products or means, notably for the identification of anti-mycobacterial compounds or for the treatment of mycobacterial diseases, more particularly of a NTM infection, tuberculosis or leprosy. |
