Es wird ein Verfahren (100) zur Herstellung von Olefinen vorgeschlagen, bei dem unter Einsatz eines oder mehrerer stoffumwandelnder Prozesse ein Gasgemisch gebildet wird, das zumindest Methan, Ethan, Ethylen, Kohlenmonoxid und Wasserstoff sowie aromatische Verbindungen, darunter zumindest Benzol, enthält, und das einer Tieftemperaturtrennung (30, 40) zugeführt wird, in welcher es von einem ersten auf ein zweites Temperaturniveau abgekühlt wird. Dabei ist vorgesehen, dass das Gasgemisch vor der Tieftemperaturtrennung (30, 40) an einem oder mehreren Gefrierinhibitoren angereichert wird. Eine entsprechende Anlage ist ebenfalls Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung.
