Summary: | According to some embodiments of the invention, an authentication method is provided. Transaction data for a transaction is received at a communication device from an access device. The transaction data comprises a first timestamp associated with a location of the access device. A second timestamp associated with a location of the communication device is determined by the communication device. It is determined whether a time difference between the first timestamp and the second timestamp is within a predetermined threshold time period. The transaction data is transmitted to a remote computer when the difference between the first timestamp and the second timestamp is within a predetermined threshold time period. The transaction is declined when the difference between the first timestamp and the second timestamp is not within a predetermined threshold. |
