Summary:A cell phone assembly comprising: a housing (106) having a first surface facing a first direction, the first surface including a touch screen; cell phone electronics supported by the housing (106); at least one image sensor (108) supported by the housing (106); a second surface (112) supported by the housing (106), the second surface (112) facing a second direction opposite the first direction; and a socket (114) defined on the second surface (112), the socket (114) having a central aperture, the socket (114) configured to removably engage a lens or a lens mount adapter; wherein the at least one image sensor (108), the socket (114), and the lens mount adapter are aligned such that light traveling along an optical path passes through the lens mount adapter and the central aperture of the socket (114) to the at least one image sensor (108).
