Summary:A method, an apparatus and a system for lifting or lowering a pod of a podded propulsion system (40) is disclosed. A first lifting point (41) is arranged to the outer surface of a ship's hull (45). The first lifting point (41) may be welded onto a position allowing lowering of the pod. A second lifting point (42) is arranged to the pod or to a platform (43) configured to carry the pod. A strand jack (30) is arranged between the first lifting point (41) and the second lifting point (42) with a support structure (10) enabling pivoted movement during the lifting process.
