Summary:The invention relates to a chair comprising a seating surface (1) and an abutment element (3) which is connected to said seating surface (1), can pivot about a pivot axis (2), and is designed, in a first pivot position, to act as a backrest for a user sitting on the seating surface (1) and, in a second pivot position, to act as a support surface that can be used by a user supporting themselves on the support surface when standing. According to the invention, the pivot axis (2) of the abutment element (3) is arranged above the seating surface (1).
