Summary:A hydraulic machine comprises a shaft (15) rotating about a rotational axis and a fluid circuit (46) for circulation of a fluid around said shaft (15). In use when the shaft is rotating, the fluid is radially outwardly centrifuged. The hydraulic machine is further provided with a particle trap (56) fixed to the shaft (15), the particle trap (56) being arranged in the fluid circuit (46) and being adapted to capture and retain particles (P) flowing in the fluid.
