Arrangement comprising an electrical device (1), which has a device housing (4) and at least one plug socket (5), and a connection cable (2), which can be used to connect the electrical device (1) to a further electrical apparatus. The device housing (4) is formed with a shaft (23) which starts from an outer surface (22) of the device housing (4) and the longitudinal extent of which runs linearly in the direction of a longitudinal axis (24). A cable plug (3) is fitted to the connection cable (2), the plug housing (6) of which cable plug lies in the shaft (23) over at least half of the length thereof, measured parallel to the longitudinal axis (24) of the shaft (23), in the state plugged into the plug socket (5). In the shaft (23), the plug housing (6) has play which is less than 0.5 mm in a direction at right angles to the longitudinal axis (24) of the shaft (23) or does not have any play with respect to a freedom of movement, and, in the shaft (23), the plug housing (6) has play which is less than 2° or does not have any play with respect to tilting about an axis at right angles to the longitudinal axis (24) of the shaft (23).
